The original song was inspired by Florence King&#8217;s complaint that modern Americans were \u201casleep at the wheel\u201d and \u201cliving in the age of human error\u201d. My response was that the Age of Human Error is way more preferable than the age where everyone pretends human error doesn&#8217;t exist, or worse, transposes it into an age of unchecked technological error. Well, shucks. Ten years on, say hello to option B.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>If you&#8217;ve lived your life according to the rules you&#8217;re told are right<br>And you&#8217;ve always done your best to play the ball<br>You can feel under attack when new perspectives come to light<br>And you&#8217;re painted as the bad guy after all<br>Never let habits of the past confine you in any way<br>This is now and that was then<br>I hope the age of human error never ends<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">The Need To Be Amazingly Vainglorious<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Inspired by a social media poll I once posted in a fit of pique after being worn down by the rounds of endless tawdry self-promotion the game demands. The poll question was, &#8220;Do you need to be amazingly vainglorious in order to be successful as a creative?&#8221;.
